Get To Know Dr Hootan Shah
Dr. Hootan Shah is a graduate of the University of Melbourne, where he earned his degree in Veterinary Medicine. With over 20 years of experience in veterinary consulting and surgery, both in Australia and internationally, he now practices exclusively at Mitcham Pet Hospital on a full-time basis.
Dr. Shah has a particular interest in orthopedic surgery, specially in fracture repair and knee reconstruction. He continues to expand his knowledge in this field through advanced educational courses and regular training workshops.
In addition to his veterinary career, Dr. Shah is known as “Hootan the Singing Vet,”. An amateur classical/operatic singer who performs at charity concerts. He is also deeply committed to supporting wildlife welfare organizations and animal shelters.
Outside of his professional work, Dr. Shah enjoys spending time with his three adopted rescue dogs—Ziba, Asha, and Pinot Noir—his daughter Munnelly, and his wife Ara.
